North Carolina's FPOC Project

Over the years, I've accumulated about 500 copies of original records from the State Archives of North Carolina. Since 2004, I have been attempting to transcribe these records into PDF format to share with others. You can use the citation with the transcript to request a copy from the Archives. I began with the transcriptions in 2004 and forgot to include the citation. If you find the citation missing, please let me know. I also created a database from my research and add citations and information from the copies that I have for individuals. This is a work in progress. Since starting this research, I am now legally blind so continuing is not so easy.

In the blog, which I recently moved to this site, I talk a lot about historical context, especially laws. The database is a large tree that is accessible to all. It's all the families I've done research on and records I've found for them. The dictionary is a list of terms you might find in the records and on the blog. The surname index is an index of all names mentioned in the document transcripts below as well as terms I may use in the site and in the blog.
